CAUSEWAY: Scotland Ireland Business Exchange will welcome more than 200 business leaders from either side of the Irish Sea as they gather in Edinburgh for the organisation’s annual awards ceremony.
With the outstanding individuals and organisations who have added to the work of Causeway in fostering and leading business links for Irish and Scottish trade set to be honoured, the final nominations for each of the categories has been announced.
The chance to gather as a business community comes after last year’s ceremony had to be held online in the midst of pandemic restrictions, but despite the success in adversity of the 2020 awards, Causeway Chair David Greenlees hopes that this year’s ceremony can help draw a line under last year’s disappointment.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has had a dramatic impact on businesses and events globally, and while we were disappointed last year we had to make the decision to cancel our face-to-face awards ceremony, we still managed to host an enjoyable and interactive Virtual Awards, in which we brought together, online, business leaders from across Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland, and had the opportunity to showcase business success from both sides of the Irish Sea,” he said. “We are committed this year to continue to highlight, through our growing network, successes within Irish, Northern Irish and Scottish business communities. As we recover and emerge from such an unprecedented, challenging time, we need more than ever to come together to showcase positive stories of triumph and the connections that have helped us to build success!”
