Date set for Causeway awards night

AFTER a year of restricted events and online gatherings, Causeway: Ireland Scotland Business Exchange have set a date of October 7, for their annual Gala Black Tie Celebration of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland Awards Night in Edinburgh.

With nominations being sought, and a watchful eye being kept on the situation, it is hoped that the restrictions can be overcome to allow the winners to receive their awards in person (above) as Causeway once again brings people together.

In the categories of Irish Exporter of the Year Award, Northern Irish Exporter of the Year Award, Scottish Exporter of the Year Award, Innovative Organisation of the Year Award, Sustainable Organisation of the Year Award and Social Impact of the Year Award, Causeway are seeking submissions of candidates, which can be made through their website.

The annual celebration provides not only the opportunity to recognise the exceptional businesses and individuals, but also for the wider Causeway network to celebrate together and deepen the connections which have lead to such success for the organisation.

Though the plans are for the event to be held in person at the Assembly Rooms in the Scottish capital, contingency plans are in place for the eventuality that an in-person event cannot be held to ensure that the achievements from within the network can be fully recognised.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has had a dramatic impact on businesses and events globally,” David Greenless, Chair of Causeway, said. “And while we were disappointed last year we had to make the decision to cancel our face-to-face awards ceremony, we still managed to host an enjoyable and interactive Virtual Awards 2020, in which we brought together, online, business leaders from across Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland, and had the opportunity to showcase business success from both sides of the Irish Sea, and it was described by attendees as ‘a brilliant and fun, and really cleverly organised and run event’ and ‘a well put-together evening and easily the most professional virtual event I’ve been to this year.’

“We are committed this year to continue to highlight, through our growing network, successes within Irish, Northern Irish and Scottish business communities, and I encourage you to consider submitting nominations for our Awards now. There are also some fantastic sponsorship opportunities available for businesses.

“As we recover and emerge from such an unprecedented, challenging time, we need more than ever to come together to showcase positive stories of triumph and the connections that have helped us to build success Whether it is online or in person, our Causeway Awards are an enjoyable evening of celebration and laughter, and also provide a great opportunity for businesses to network, collaborate and share opportunities.”
