Pearse Park planning to continue with stakeholders meeting

THE Pearse Park Development Committee, which includes members from the GAA, the Camanachd Association and AFL Scotland, will be holding a virtual stakeholders meeting on May 24 at 7pm, to present and discuss the development of The Pearse Park Centre for Culture and Sport.

As reported in The Irish Voice last month, the facility embedded in the hearts of many in Scotland GAA in Cambuslang had fallen on hard times in recent years, closed in 2005 and was in desperate need of re-development.

As the only land owned by the GAA in Scotland, its condition had been a source of heartache for many who worked so hard to keep it in existence. Then in 2019, the Pearse Park Development Committee was established with the aforementioned members and they began to plan for an innovative facility, complete with plans for the inclusion of an Irish Cultural Centre, which is much needed in Glasgow.

Now, the stakeholders meeting will look to take those plans forward and all interested parties are invited to attend.
