Sharon’s dancers sparkle at Kelly Hendry Feis

SCOTLAND’S Irish dancing community have been relishing being back in competitive action once again, none more so than The Sharon Taylor Irish Dance Academy, whose students turned in some excellent performances at the recent Kelly Hendry Feis in Newcastle.

The feis—in its fifth year—was the first to be held in the North West of England in 18 months and followed some excellent results from Sharon’s dancers at the John Flanagan Memorial Feis in London—the first live event since March 2020.

Three students were crowned champions at the most recent event, namely: Oscar Donnelly (Under 10), Kathleen Collins (Under 17) and Declan McLaughlin (Under 23).

“I delighted for them,” Sharon said. “Many of our other dancers amassed a huge haul of medals and trophies too, so It was well worth the trip.”

“Well, what can we say? It’s been a long road and a whole 18 months since our last feis, but this weekend more than made up for lost time,” Kelly Hendry Feis organisers said. “We want to thank each and every one of the dancers, teachers, family members and supporters for joining us and making the weekend so special. We have missed watching amazing dancing, listening to fabulous music and seeing all our dancing friends from around the globe. We hope you all enjoyed your time with us and we simply can’t thank you enough for the support and all the wonderful feedback. We can’t wait to see you at the next one. Love from us all at the Kelly Hendry Feis.”
