IT'S NOT every day we hear that a Glasgow Irishman has received the highest honour within the world of science, but that recently came true.

THERE'S nothing to beat the company of friends, especially when they’ve been in your life forever and you know, and love, each other like sisters. Four of us took a trip back to Donegal together. We hadn’t been in Gweedore together since we were 17!

I HAVE been spending a lot of time around older people this past while and I’m never disappointed with their company, their humour nor their ability to embrace the modern times that are in it. I was down at the Shamrock Lunch Club in St Columbkille’s before Christmas and the craic was great. A grand lunch of homemade soup, sandwiches and all the cakes and pastries you could eat, some good music, dancing, and best of all, storytelling.

A LANDSCAPE designer wants to see the Gorbals Viaduct—one of the last, remaining structures surviving from the days when Gorbals was the traditional home of a large Irish, immigrant community—redesigned as an urban park.
