CONNOLLY’S
45 Bell St, Glasgow G1 1NX
0141 552 6590
RIGHT in the beating heart of Glasgow, Connolly's sits on the corner of Bell Street in the Merchant City, which makes it a stone’s throw from the Gallowgate and a ten minute walk from Central Station, and it’s a walk well worth making whether your after a traditional tea time pint or perhaps you and your gang are looking for some top end live music?
A fine looking gantry holds your gaze over the entrance and main walk in area and there are seats adorning the entire pub, which make it a great spot for catching up with friends for a few hours or spending the evening listening to one of the many talented singers and musicians who are on demand throughout the week and you will even find Irish dancers taking to the floor each Friday night.
The bar staff will serve you quickly and before you know it you will be sampling a creamy pint of cool stout or one of the many lagers, beers and ciders that are available—you will definitely be spoiled for choice, guaranteed. The bar staff are all also very adept at lining up your favourite shots and cocktails with the traditional Baby Guinness being one that I’d highly recommend.
The Guinness is hitting a 4.5 in the out of five scale and you won’t find many better pints in Glasgow.
The staff are also always on hand to attend to your needs and even when there’s a big match on, they will keep the flow moving at the bar and you won’t wait long for your drinks.
It is a good idea to get in early if you are wanting a seat for the match and once you are comfy, it’s a safe bet to say that you won’t be tempted to head anywhere else as you will find a great evening’s entertainment just about to fly into sight.
The pub has several screens making it very popular pre, during and post match and if there’s a game on you fancy, most requests can be accommodated with ease.
Connolly's has firmly established itself into the growing family of traditional pubs in Glasgow and it has a place in the heart of many of the travelling holiday makers who see Glasgow as their second home, and Connolly's as their home from home.
If it’s a place you have not yet visited, do yourself the biggest of favours and go soon—you most certainly will not be disappointed.
