Dominant display secures All- Britain glory for Ceann Creige

The All-Britain Intermediate Camogie Final saw Ceann Creige of Glasgow and Tara Camogie of London battle it out for the second time this championship season.

The first encounter was a closely fought affair with Ceann Creige ultimately securing the victory. The final took place in Hough End in Manchester with both teams travelling a long distance before they took to the field.

With the match underway, Ceann Creige got off to a great start, scoring three goals within the first 10 minutes. Tara put up a tough battle throughout, but the three goals set the tone for the rest of the game. The Glasgow forwards kept chipping away at the points in the first half and with a fourth goal secured before the half time whistle, it was going to be tough for Tara to recover.

Tara fought hard in the second -half but a strong defensive performance from the Glasgow side resulted in a clean sheet at the full-time whistle.

The full time score was 7-14 for Glasgow, with scorers on the day being: Miriam Reynolds 0-1; Nicole Nugent 1-3; Niamh Rice 2-2; and Player of the Match Anna McKee 4-8.

The trophy was presented to the captain of Ceann Creige, Orla Donnelly, by the referee Ciara Mannion from Fullen Gaels Manchester.

The aforementioned Anna McKee—who recently joined the Glasgow club—deservedly received the individual award for registering a fantastic 4-8 from play.

Ceann Creige now go through to the All-Ireland Junior B competition and will travel to play the champions of Connacht on November 30.
